Here's som quick designs for handmade black and white invitations. As with all invitations, there are always some digital elements with the printing. In effect, these are hybrid invitations you can create for your next elegant affair, sweet 16 party, or announcments.

Best tip for our timing: Go to the office supply store and buy some mailing labels. They make solid white ones in a size large enough for hand addressing (about 2.5" by 3") and sometimes you can even find name tags with a black border that will work. Hand address these labels prior to completion of invitations. You can also buy and print or write return address labels too. Add this to postage stamps and you're ready for action when invitations are finished.
Elegance Squared--
5.25" card stock square. Black is folded over white on left side. Uses die cuts and punches in swirly shapes. Wording would be printed and start lower on the card so you could see the corner punch better.
Envelopes are white vellum and squire. This size costs .67 cents to mail.
Geo Shine-
5" x7" black panel with white panel overlay. Top portion has a black and white print stripe with a metallic silver circle, black sun, and gemstone.
Envelopes are 5" by 7" and use regular postage. They can be black or white.
Long Lean 16-
4" by 9.25" sized to fit into a standard #10 envelope. This design was created digitally with layers of black and gray. Printed on a heavy letter weight paper it is matted by metallic silver for weight.
Simply Fun
Adorable 5" x 7" layered cardstock design. Print border paper wraps around the entire card for nice finished look. Die cut flower made from book text. The gray 16 behind the printed lettering will look more like the one above when finalized.
Sunflower Swing-
Size 3.75" by 5.25" this is the smallest one but still packs a nice punch. 3 piece invitation secured with a brad so the pieces swing. Brad and ribbon are gold.
Tall Fun Flower-
4" by 9.25" sized to fit into a standard #10 envelope. This card is printed on white cardstock with print paper strip and stamped circle layered on--simple, elegant, and appealing.
This would be pretty in a black envelope.
As time approaches and you still haven't designed your invitations, consider the straight digital route. These are especially pretty and economical in black and white. I used elements purchased from Digital Designers.com--they have a great selection and instructions--wry smile.
