I started using computers with layouts in1978 when I learned off-set printing in high school. I convinced my college to buy the same type setting equipment and we thought we were high tech. I've loved cropping photos (back then it was with a grease pencil) and editing copy ever since.

Ahoy 1997--Sample from the first digital scrapping class I taught in 1997 at Arkival Memories in Virginia. I used a very early version of Print Shop (TM) to teach what we called computerized scrapping. I printed items on sticker paper, sized and matted the photo on the left, and made jounraling areas. Two hallmarks of my style were visible even then: handwritten journaling and drawing the pages together.
Found Our Key-Hybrid page using Spellbinder's Fusion (tm) products. I used every kit on their CD to make this fun layout that looks like it's not from any of their kits. Layout was displayed at CHA 2007.
Drexel- My current favorite hybrid layout. The image on left is digital only and the image on right shows the fullness of hybrid. Used Spellbinders' die cuts plus dimensional paint, brads, chalks and ribbon.
Why we love Florida- The local paper had a series of Florida themed stickers for anyone to download and create projects. I printed many of them on sheer paper for a soft look. This layout was fun.
Other projects using digital/hybrid techniques
Hybrid scrapping techniques were used to create two mini books. Spellbinders' Fusion Girl Kit and die cuts plus embellishments.
NOTE: Album may be slow loading on some computers. Give it a moment then try using the next button to see all pages.
The ordinal mini book is 5" by 5" mounted on 6" vellum squares and placed in a traditional album with page covers for display (shown at two CHA events)
The second album was for the little ones in the photos and it was printed on 3" by 3" squares and glued into a small pre-made album with a ribbon closure. (these are pictured at the end).
Family-Create a digital quilt page from a traditional layout using Kaleidoscope kreator 2.0 (TM). I was fortunate enough to be given this software as a member of the Spellbinders' Design Team and I have had lots of fun playing around with it. Since I have a 12" scanner and printer I can print full page collages made from any traditional layout.
Face of Love-This one uses just a portion of the layout to make a kaleidoscope.
Photos for cards. I loved this flamingo Christmas photos. They'd make great holiday cards.
Other Exhibitions:
Winter 2008 Gallery- Winter in south Florida doesn't inspire too many snowflake designs but here's what did happen in winter.
Hybrid Gallery-I've been using these techniques for years, yet they always seem new...
