Supplies
Rose Stamp from Dream Impressions (Friend Like You 144-0200)
Cardstock: dark red, dark green, mustard fleck, quarter page or less pieces (I used scraps)
Corrugated cardstock, 4.5" by5.5" (I had this, but you can make your own too)
Green vellum, 4.5" by 1.5" strip
½" wide red and gold ribbon, about a yard
red wire, about 24"
beads
wide tip light colored marker (I used Marvy metallic in green
fine tip black marker
wooded barbeque skewer, (get them in packs from the dollar store)
Use black ink to stamp rose bloom on red and stem on green cardstock.
Cut out with sharp scissors.
Mount on torn edge mustard card stock.
Mount mustard cardstock onto corrugated cardstock.
Write wording for name and sentiment on notebook paper using lines as guide. (I wrote Bernice-my mother's name in green, then My Mother My Friend in black).
Write the name first and then the sentiment over the name.
Attach vellum to cardstock with brads.
Use glue dots to glue skewer to back of design and cover with another piece of mustard cardstock. (you can write a note to Mom here too).
Thread beads on wire and curl ends.
Tie bow with long tails and use beaded wire to attach bow to skewer.
Ideas on this project:
·
Any card front design can be made into a plant poke
·
A smaller design would be cute as a pencil or pen topper for an office gift
·
You can laminate the design for extra sturdiness and to prevent water damage
·
Put these in centerpiece arrangements for parties or receptions
·
Buy Mom a vase of fresh flowers and tuck one of these in
·
Insert a thank you poke in a small plant for a hostess gift or get well present
