I love my studio so much I scrapped it...This is the fifth in-home studio I've been fortunate enough to enjoy and I am so blessed.
The scan at left was done before Sir Henry got me my cool 12' scanner and if I go back and re-scan all the pasted pages I would never scrap again. So, I'm working with it....
This studio resides in our new home, compliments of three hurricanes in two years and a low interest disaster relief loan. It sits across the front of the house with a nice sunny window plus lots of extra lighting.
We were working on a really tight budget, no credit cards, and still managed to put together something I could love. Sir Henry paneled the walls, tiled the floors, and converted the small closet to all built in shelving. After I painted molding in my color scheme he applied it to the on wall in rows to hold my stamp collection. Naturally there's about 100 stamps that don't fit now, but that's all the room we had anyway.
This view is from the entrance to the studio so I can see happy colors all the way down the hall..
..
The previous owner left some inexpensive furniture in the bedroom of the house so I appropriated it for my studio. I painted it with bright acrylic paints, added beaded drawer pulls, and Sir Henry put floor tiling on the top so I could have a non-slip surface for die cutting and eyelet setting.
The layout at right shows some of the photos from after I had moved in and was in a "project frenzy." I am suspicious of all the grand photos of see of artist's studios that don't have any mess in them so I decided to forgo the Better Homes and Gardens version of a studio...-wicked grin
Below are some more photos of the process including a shot of the unfinished living room where I painted all the furniture. The living room is now two shades of bright green which also makes me very happy.
