Customized Snack Cans
The Impetus and the Process

Sir Henry and I drove the 12 hour journey to Virginia for Thanksgiving and we brought along our favorite car snack—canned potato crisps by Pringles. There was an ad on the can about customizing your can cover on their site. http://popart.pringles.com/cancreator/home.php

This is what happens when you’re confined to a car for too many hours with junk food….I noted the web site and tried to look it up on my Palm Treo™ but quickly realized this would have to wait until I got home.

The company site is funny, there are loads of choices for covers.  After I selected a background-- text and photos were tricky for this novice  to navigate.

As far as I could figure, you couldn’t download your final design into jpeg format so I just printed a background I liked, measured it and went off to Photo Shop Elements™ to design my own. I could download a logo off the main page, so I used that in my design too.

I used digital scrapping techniques to create a layout on my can cover, included pictures of the nine nieces and nephews plus one of us. After printing and trimming I just glued the new labels on a can and had our customized chip cans ready for delivery for Christmas. Silly fun was had by all.

I use Designer Digitals almost exclusively for my digital supplies including this project. I wouldn't know if they're the best, I just know they work well for me so I haven't switched.
