Use direct to paper to create background with multiple colors then stamp focal image in black. Stamp by Paper Artsy.
Accents are Wizard die cuts and prima flowers with a gem center brad. I used Krylon pen to accent trefoil and edge of stamped image.  04.06

Make ‘artsy” cards in a flash simply by letting the tools work for you. Get a few of your favorite collage style stamps (especially those you love to look at but rarely use---smile) and create card art.

The process simplified:
1.Use different colored inks to color plain paper
a.All you Tim Holtz™ fans can go to town with your alcohol inks and applicators on porous or slick finish paper
b I usually pick three ink pads, swipe and twist them on the paper beginning with the lightest color and moving to the darkest.
c.Acrylic paint fans will find this works for them too.

2.Ink a collage style stamp in a vivid black ink like Ranger’s Nick Bantock Lamp Black™ or Staz-On™ black.

3.Set the stamp ink side up on your work surface and place the paper face down on the inked stamp. Rub gently to apply ink. (this method works for 200 pound weaklings like myself who have trouble getting a complete image by stamping onto the paper even with a mouse pad underneath)

4.Trim image, ink edges, matte once or twice and secure on card front.

5.Polish your design off with fibers, die cuts, word stamps, and other little bits you have laying around.

This technique has been a mainstay for me for over five years. I keep it fresh and contemporary by changing the colors and the embellishments.

Variation: Use print paper and skip the DTP step.
Add on: die cut letters from the stamped paper as accents.
