As I was working on my swap cards for our Just Cuttin' Up Club this month I revisited an old favorite technique--pins from paper. Stampers used to make pins in batches to trade with each other at conventions and retreats. Lately the trading card has replaced the pin. While the the TC does offer a bigger canvas and less hassle, the darling pin should not be forgotten. They are great to make for "non-artist" friends as well as other artists. Think about doing a set for the bachelorette party, the birthday bash, for obscure holidays and well known holidays too.

Don't wait until you're an old woman, wear purple and a red hat now!
Use the tag punch, ribbon, Celtic charm and tree of life punch to make a St. Patrick's Day pin to give alone(right) or on a card (left).
Stamp a bold image on a small tag
then coat with Diamond Glaze(tm) and
embellish with beads and wire for any occasion.
Laminate or Diamond glaze any postage stamp onto fun foam (Elvis preferred-grin) for a quick fun pin. I did these with the Sept. 11 commemorative stamp for a patriotic pin too.
Design Notes:
For a better presentation, make a greeting card or tag to adhere to your pin for giving.
Use 80lb cardstock on paper pins, and consider layering it whenever possible for sturdier finished products.
Spray or sponge a glaze, varnish or other finish on your pins for added strength and durability.
Before you make a batch of pins, test drive one or two for ease of wear.
Layer paper pin designs over dominoes, wood pieces, or fun foam for more texture and support.
