Class Description: Make your greeting special by creating this unique two-sided card nestled on its very own display stick. Great for co-workers or to dress up a plant for birthdays, housewarmings, parties, and more. We’ll use decorative tags that you assemble plus stickers, fibers, inks, and die cuts to create this charming greeting.

Materials and Supplies—Card stock, tags, embellishments, sticks.

Project:
1.
Base and mats
a.
Use 5” by 5” as your main base
b.
Mats can be even squares, rectangles or strips of coordinating paper
2.
Coordinating Tags
a.
Use embellishments that cover 2/3 of your tag
b.
Let designs flow off the tags slightly
c.
Overlap elements for collage look
d.
Use an odd number and size elements for more visual clarity

Lettering and Messages
a.
Write a name or a message with letters
b.
Apply the letters to a strip or mat of paper first
c.
Deliberately run letters at an angle or “up and down” for visual appeal and ease of assembly.
4.
Assembly
a.
Use a sturdy adhesive like glue dots or double stick tape
b.
Lay adhesive on all edges of one base first, putting extra adhesive near the bottom.
c.
Wrap adhesive around both sides of the stick and position on the prepared base.
d.
Lay top piece down (aligning from bottom to top) on prepared piece.
Bonus Ideas:
Use sticks as place cards for parties.
The sticks look great in a pencil jar on a desk—great way to celebrate with co-workers.
Put a stick in a bud vase or plant pot to personalize a floral gift.
Make sticks in support of teams playing in the big game.
