The Collage Artist, She who dances with scissors :)
Melting Pot
Overview of Classes and Workshops:
  Artful Tourist programs merge some of the more traditional projects and techniques with the processes and theories of art to create a unique blend of art process and project. Step outside your own boundaries, banish your inner critic, and soar into your true artistic self.
The same class or workshop may be adapted to suit different audiences, themes, and time frames. For example, Artist Trading Cards can be structured to create page art from acid-free materials for scrappers, miniature collage pieces for alternative artists, or card projects for traditional stampers. It's quite possible to take the same Artful Tourist class twice and feel like you were in a different program.

The following keys will help in discerning which programs are best for your venue:

                W= Workshop: 3-6 hours $35 to $95.00 per guest

               C= Class: 1.5-2.5 hours $18 to $32.00 per guest

              CS=Class Series: Taught only locally in 1.5 hour sessions over 6 weeks

                A= Artsy: outsider art and fine art, emphasis on process

               T=Traditional: crafters and art newbies, emphasis on project

              S=Scrappers: utilizes work with photographs and archival materials

Melting Pot Magic- Heat up your handcrafted treasures with embellishments from Suze Weinberg's Melting Pot(tm). Workshop explores designs combining UTEE with all manner of "magic ingredients" like beads, shrink plastic, cookie cutters, molds, and paper. Participants will complete at least three projects and take home lots of ideas for more. Participants must bring: melting pot, large jar of clear UTEE, and long handled metal tweezers. Additional shared supplies available in the classroom, however, if you have your own, please feel welcome to bring them marked clearly with your name.

Flat-out Melting: Use UTEE and even beeswax to create designs suitable for collage, cards, scrapbooks and other two-dimensional artwork. We’ll make medallions, seals, encase memorabilia, and show the cracked glass finish for photos or other images. You’ll love the designs you can achieve in your current artwork when you add these techniques.

Glassy Effects with the Melting Pot: Charms, light catchers, and cracked glass photos are the focus of this clearly inspired Melting Pot Workshop. Please bring: melting pot, large jar of clear UTEE, copies of small photos, and long handled metal tweezers. Additional shared supplies available in the classroom, however, if you have your own, please feel welcome to bring them marked clearly with your name.
