The Artist--Legacy Art Gallery
Legacy Art is my preferred term for scrapbooking. I think we do ourselves a disservice if we don't call it an art form. Years from now, your scrapbook pages and mine will be displayed in art museums, insured with extra riders on the policy in homes, and appreciated for the art and emotion that they represent. I chose to honor them now as they deserve.

When I visited the fabulous Pine Cone Press Headquarters in January 2007, I picked up a few kits and books from previous months. I picked Pens and Needles based on my friend Lynn's recommendation.

I liked the book's emphasis on four projects from the same kit. I also loved the combination of threads and pens/doodling. Unfortunately, I still couldn't make myself sew. I have some personal "issues" here, and it just hasn't been a priority in "thurpy" yet. So here's what happened with me and the kit.
March 2007 (for me, older book for club members)

Leftovers mean Card Creation Time--whoo hoo start the theme music...
Using the book for inspiration, I created a doodled border and a paisley flower on this layout. I also used a Tim Holtz rubber stamp, the Wizard and coordinating rubber stamps for Wizard die cuts. I really had some fun with this, although I think it's a bit "busy."
This photo tag holder merges a Sizzix tag (cut in the Wizard) with other Wizard die cuts. The entire tag is attached only with a magnet so it can be removed from the card and added to the "fridge or file cabinet.
A wearable and whimsical pin is attached by tag to this card that bears the word Happy. I used pen accents on the kit's paper cut into strips and into die cut shapes.
Whimsy-stamped word on Wizard die cut tag stamped with coordinating image from their collection. All ribbons and papers came from kit.
