The Artist--Legacy Art Gallery
Legacy Art is my preferred term for scrapbooking. I think we do ourselves a disservice if we don't call it an art form. Years from now, your scrapbook pages and mine will be displayed in art museums, insured with extra riders on the policy in homes, and appreciated for the art and emotion that they represent. I chose to honor them now as they deserve.

March's extraordinary book was all about Rub-Ons. I am so thankful for this topic because even though my Wizard will apply rub ons with ease--I just hadn't gotten into the habit of using them. Before the Wizard, I couldn't get them to go on correctly and since the Wizard, I just haven't been drawn to them.

I learned two things right away:
1. Rub-ons are a much higher quality these days
2. K & Co. makes these way cool rub-ons that apply a sticky surface for adding glitter.
The Artful Tourist ADORES glitter!

Lynn Barwald's Interpretation--Here's how fabulous my teacher is---although the kit has enough paper for two layouts, they rarely picture two layouts. Lynn not only creates her interpretation of the kit layout, but she designs a second one too! I've heard from others that some clubs simply show up, distribute the new book and kits, and then have some time for show and tell from last month's kit. Shame on them. Techniques to note: Lynn used the glitter rub-ons on print paper, background cardstock, and directly on photos. She used acetate for printing journaling on both pages, but on the second page she painted behind the journaling to make it pop.

Pine Cone Press Meets the Wizard with an explosion of glittering effects. First of all, these photos of my favorite cousin Mary Ruth's daughter Anagail made this whole layout super easy. Isn't she a doll? For those of you who wonders where I get this from--I hope the Chattin genetics make that obvious. Techniques to note: Used Fancy Pants chipboard flowers (another gift from my friend Lynn) coated in Ranger beads and glitter. I used a fine ice sparkle glitter along with the colored ones from the kit for the rub-ons and I chalked the flower vine rub on on the left page. The flowers, tags, square, glasses, and buckles are all Spellbinders style dies cut from kit papers and accented with Stickles by Ranger. I used the display piece from the rub-ons as the tag in pocket on the right side of the left layout. The three pockets have journaling in one and photos in the other two.
Leftovers mean Card Creation Time--whoo hoo start the theme music...
Both cards feature the K & Co. glitter border rub-ons. At left it is on the ribbon and at right it is overlapping the yellow and purple. I dug out some other rub-ons and coordinated with die cuts and even a rubber stamped face.
Now that I've started rubbing--I quickly created a set of Easter Cards featuring rub ons one morning this week. They are located in the card gallery.
