The Artful Tourist Studio
Space to create. I am blessed to be working on my fifth art space in my home. This one is in my new "tin roof cottage" in South Florida. I'm in the process of getting a new home since my old one was damaged beyond repair during the hurricanes.  The amazing Sir Henry is doing a ton of the work himself and I'm enjoying the creative planning and decor.
We're tackling my art space first. We figure 50% of the boxes and bundles will be out of the way once we get this room finished. ~smile~ Here's a view of the living area--it's got a long way to go...

The room is 14' by 8' and has two nice sunny windows that will be situated directly above my work table. Sir Henry paneled the walls in washed white and put in the faux marble black flooring.
There was flooring left over which went on top the low chest to make a cutting area.
I had been using Iris carts for storage and I just hated the amount of plastic in my space. The previous owner left these chests in the master bedroom. They were a dark cherry finish with aged brass pulls. Wait until you see the new tropical beaded drawer pulls I made to go on these chests.
I painted molding in coordinating colors with the chests to go along most of a wall as my stamp display and storage.
We took the door off of the closet and built in wide shelves. I'm either going to paint or cover the shelves in bright wallpaper.

I'm still unpacking, but you can see here how the shelves and storage chests are filling up...I've found stuff I don't even remember buying...It's like birthday and  Christmas all rolled into one!
Finally-a close up of my beaded handles. I'm so tickled with how these work and look.
Daisy's working hard on the new place too!
