Scrap Stack Cards April 2005
It seems like whenever I create a project there are little stamped and punched bits of paper left over that I hate to toss away. I keep them in plastic bags sorted by color inside a basket near my work area. When I need a break from unpacking or need to get some cards together quickly, I grab this basket. I also clean it out periodically and manage to toss things that have been in there for years without a glimmer of hope--chagrined smile.
Sometimes this process feels like making a quilt from the scraps of my life. The angel card at left is from some of the first trading cards I ever made. The ATC never quite looked right so I chopped it up for this card.
The DTP colored bar under the chess piece here is from a background I made and chopped off another image.
I'm always impressed with what embellishments can add to a design. The ribbon on the flamingo card and the punches above really bring the design together.
