I love it when something works, even if it just has the potential of working from the start. I wanted to make a wedding card for a friend's son. I knew he had a different last name than hers, so I called to check the name and it was Queen. After joking about being married to a Queen and being a Queen I set off to make a card. Because I call my mother a Queen (I'm a princess, it's only fair) I had a few queen stamps and a chess piece in particular that I thought would work. Following my own mandate, "Never make just one card." I started stamping the chess piece on various papers to experiment. The final card is lost to the Internet forever since I forgot to scan before mailing, however, here are the other three that will work for different occasions or another wedding.
I started by stamping different hearts on ivory using light ink or markers. I stamped a chocolate Queen on each heart before cutting them out and finishing backgrounds and edges. Then I looked around (within reach you understand, I wouldn't want any stress involved) and found embellishments and bases. I intended to leave one off a card as a page embellishment for a photo of my Mom, but I forgot. I still might do that while everything is out...
